So as promised here is the first reveal.
I thought we'd start at the back door...
So this was the view as you came in through the back door. Long hallway with two closets on the left and a shelf at the end. There is also patio doors on the left before the closets. Stairs at the end head up to the second floor and door on the right leads to the kitchen.
From the other end of the hall by the stairs looking to the back door.
I was soooo excited about all the storage...definately need doors though.
Weird shelf at the end of the hall beside the closets. (and some garbage, and a busted window screen...awesome!!)
Took down all the panelling and and found this lovely yellow drywall with a million holes in it.
Busted out the shelf at the end of the hall. After a lot of deliberation, decided to put the laundry in this area.
...demo, demo, demo.... now time to re-build.
Busted out one of the closets and famed in a doorway to seperate the laundry area. I was kinda bummed about losing storage space, but at the same time happy that I didn't have to lug all the laundry down to the basement all the time.
By the way, notice the piece of scrap wallpaper tacked to the doorframe???
Bahahahahah....seriously, who did we have working on this place with us?!?!?!
Doorway framed in and drywalled. Mudding and taping and patching has begun....and seemed to go on forever!!
And then, apparently I was too busy to take pictures for awhile cause suddenly it's almost done!
Still needs a door on the closet and a door to the laundry...and of course some trim!
Laundry (don't mind the mess ... it's a well used room)
And finally, it's finished...
So that's the entry, back hall and laundry. Do you love it so far?? I know I sure do.
Stay tuned for the next reveal.....
